The story of Cain committing fratricide by taking the life of his brother Abel is the first recorded event after the fall of man in Genesis 3. The issue was that the Lord accepted Abel's offering but rejects Cain's offering. Cain then becomes angry at an extreme high level. What is fascinating is that God personally counsels Cain and warns him that disaster is immanent if he doesn't do right. Cain then kills his brother. Latter in Scripture we discover that Cain led a trio of three evil men as Jude 11 indicates. This ancient account is full of present day application to all.
