Happiness is a destination whereby most travel away from it rather than to it. It is like taking the I5 north in Los Angeles hoping to reach San Diego. Buddy you are going the wrong way! No topic is more relevant to this than the nature of pleasure. What we all recognize is that pleasure is a component of happiness, but pleasure outside of God’s boundaries brings anti-happiness. Case in point, Bill Cosby’s detestable violation of many women. In short, why did he do what he did? At some level, he was attempting to create a happy world for himself (talk about having a flawed compass). His unbridled pleasure ultimately brought unhappiness to himself, his victims, his family, and the world who saw him as America’s father figure.
