There is one Bible character that I believe doesn't get enough press. I am referring to Jonathan, the oldest son of Saul and heir apparent to the throne. Well at least he was until the Lord judged Saul and said he would lose the throne for his sin. On the day David slew Goliath Jonathan would likely been watching. From I Samuel 18.1-5, it is easily surmised that Jonathan being the godly man that he was, just figured out that the Lord was going to make David the next king and that he wanted to be a close friend of David to help him achieve all that God was planning for him. Wow! what a man of God. This study has a lot to do with obedience and humility.
