Ancient literature heightened the victories of its heroes and buried their failures, not so in the Bible. The sins and failures of its greatest heroes are showcased for all the world over millenniums to observe.
This observation is often offered as apologetic evidence for the trustworthiness of the Scriptures because it goes against the very grain of the natural human condition and must be supernatural.
But beyond this observation, there must be a reason for such transparency. As a starting point, Luke 12.2-3 sets our stage.
