In Part 1 of our study, we contrasted the will of God for our lives by comparing the Old Testament and the New Testament. In ancient times, methods were used such as the Urim and Thummim, prophets, lots, and even a fleece as ancient believer's struggled to decipher God's will. This was contrasted with five specific wills of God in the New Testament which according to John MacArthur, take the mystery out of God’s will. He says fulfill these five and then you can do whatever you like. I like what John is offering but there also seems more to it than that. In Part 2 we will look at the more to it. We will see how God’s will unfolds over decades in real time in Paul’s life. Perhaps there is no greater person to understand the outworking of God’s will in one’s life than the Apostle Paul. He is tasked with the extreme goal of spreading the gospel to the world. This is followed up with documentation from Scripture in Acts. By looking at specific events in Paul's life, one gains tremendous insight on how God unfolds His will in every believer's life. As we look at these principles Friday, I promise that they will relate to your world providing insight to the all too elusive will of God.
