As Paul pivots subject matters, and goes from the heights of God’s love (8.38-39) to the lowest of all pains, his people Israel rejecting and killing her Messiah. He stops and gathers himself, takes a deep breathe and now shares the deepest pain of his life (9.1-5). This study examines the history of the old normal of God's chosen people rejecting their Lord and the deep hearted grief it produces in those believers wanting those clostest loved ones to walk with God.
