Most Christians are unaware that there is a passage in the Old Testament that religious Jews are absolutely fixated on called the Shema. The passage is Deuteronomy 6.4-9 with special attention to the first verse 4 which reads, "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!." It is called the Shema which means "Hear O' Israel!" because it is taken from the first two words of the verse. Jews for thousands of years recite the Shema daily as they start and finish their day. It is about time that Christians study the passage also to understand the timeless significance of the Shema.
